Former Hopkins woman dies 5 days shy of 106th birthday

Anna Mae Wynne of Gree3058375nville, formerly of Hopkins, died Monday, April 20, just five days shy of her 106th birthday.

Anna was born April 25, 1909, in Duryea, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Julia (Gach) Wastak. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished all her family.

She is survived by her son, Paul and Joyce Wynne; her grandson, Bill and Susan Wynne; and her extended family: four step children; 13 step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Bill; and her daughter-in-law: Marbo Wynne. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson Township, 2036 20th Street, with a time to visit the family from 10 am till service time. Rev. Fr. Harry Potter, celebrant. Private interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may made to the Hopkins Public Library, 118 E. Main St., Hopkins, MI 49328. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel.
