Former owner of Hidden Valley Golf Course dies in Florida

Thomas H. Lowing, 71, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Sept. 9.
Tom was former owner ophoto_20150914_WM0048537_0_lowing_photo_20150914f Lowing Enterprises and Hidden Valley Golf Course in Shelbyville. He was a member of the Peace River Car Club an avid classic car restorer and enjoyed golf.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Shirley; sons, Thomas II of Venice, FL; Trevor of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Ruth Lowing (Bernie Meekhof) of MI; Beth (Robert) Sanborn of MI; brother, David (Mary Anne) of MI; five grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at the Neal E. Fonger Post 179, 2327 Wilson Ave. S.W., Grand Rapids, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.
