Former Plainwell coach hired as Hopkins AD

Tim Rieman has been hired as the new athletic director at Hopkins High School. He succeeds Andrew Mains, who served the past three years in the position.

Rieman has 33 years of experience in education with numerous opportunities to work in different capacities. He has been been a math and physical education teacher, principal, assistant AD, summer school principal, and coached football, baseball and basketball at Plainwell Schools for 26 years and then moved to Traverse City to teach and coach for three years.

His family includes wife Janelle who is a private practice counselor, daughter Bailee who is 26 and married to Jake Wisnaski, daughter Sydni who is 22, and daughter Raegan who is 12.

He and his family are moving from Traverse City back to this area.

He said, “I can’t wait to see all of our student athletes in action this school year.”
