Former Wayland woman sought in Kent crime spree

Tauna Parfait

Authorities are searching for former Wayland woman Tauna Parfait, 33, most recently believed to be living in Otsego in connection with a recent crime spree in Kent County.

Parfait and Bradley Johnson, also 33, are wanted for using a scam on gas station clerks and for ramming a Kent County sheriff’s cruiser with a stolen vehicle. Johnson and Parfait are accused of pretending to be gas station upper management to gain access to money from cash registers.

They also are suspected of stealing a 1996 Toyota Corolla, with plate BVQ9448, which was reported missing Saturday, Dec. 15, from a Pizza Hut parking lot, 2745 10 Mile Road NE. Kent County Sheriff’s deputies said the car is dark green with damage to the right quarter panel and missing the right rear hubcap.

Deputies found a Chevy Silverado nearby that was stolen on Dec. 10, allegedly by Johnson and Parfait.

The couple is believed to have stolen the Silverado from southern Kent County after fleeing and eluding deputies in a different stolen vehicle, which rammed a sheriff’s cruiser in a parking lot at the 76th Street truck stop.

It is believed the couple’s alleged crimes are the result of drug abuse.
