Sophomore pitcher Mallory Teunissen, a 2015 graduate of Wayland High School, picked up her first WHAC Pitcher of the Week award for her career.

Her Davenport team went 2-2 on the week and Teunissen was on the mound during both wins. The combined score between the two starts was 16-1.

During the first game against Madonna University Teunissen had to pitch extra innings to help the Panthers come out on top. She pitched nine innings, only giving up four hits and one earned run during the game. In the second game, she pitched four scoreless innings, only giving up three hits and saw DU take a 14-run lead during her time on the mound.

Teunissen is statistically one of the best pitchers in the WHAC this season. She has an earned run average of 1.36 over the 19 games she has pitched, which is the lowest of any WHAC pitcher.

Teunissen also leads the league in total wins; she won her 16th game against Northwestern Ohio Saturday. She ranks third in total strikeouts with 105 in 113 innings pitched.
