Former Wayland High School pitching star Emma Ludema had a successful debut hurling Monday for the Calvin University softball team in Florida. Ludema went the distance and picked up the victory in a 9-2 decision over Moravian. The Knights, who are picked second in this springs Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) softball race, won their first two games down south. Ludema, who starred in both softball and basketball at Wayland, is a freshman this year. She is shown here in the cover photo after the game with her younger sister, Madi.
