Former Wildcat grid friends oppose each other in MIAA contest

Former Wayland High School football standouts Quentin Sweeney (34) and Mike Miklusicak (22) were best friends and teammates on the Wildcat team that made it to the district finals two years ago. However, on Saturday they were on the opposite sides of the field and on opposite sides of the football. Sweeney, a linebacker for Kalamazoo College and among the leading tacklers, had to tackle Hope ball carrier Miklusicak, who has averaged 5.2 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns this season. Both are sophomores. Kalamazoo won the MIAA showdown 39-31.
