All parents of students in the Wayland school district are reminded to complete the meal order form each week in order to receive meals for virtual learning days.

School officials have indicated that they believe healthy meals are an important part of a student’s academic success. Therefore, meals will be made available to children during virtual learning days regardless of whether students are engaged in the hybrid learning model, attending the county-wide virtual academy or are too young to be currently enrolled in the District.

A week’s worth of meals will be packed and distributed once per week for children to enjoy while at home on their virtual learning days. This service also is being extended to children too young to be enrolled in school.

Students attending the hybrid option will be packed three breakfasts and three lunches each week. Virtual academy students and children to young to be enrolled in school will be packed five breakfasts and five lunches.

This service is being offered optionally as a resource to families in the WUS District who would like to participate. All ordered meals will be free of charge to all children 18 years and younger.

Parents/Guardians must complete the virtual meal order form each week for eachstudent who wishes to receive meals. Forms must be submitted no later than Thursday night in order to be on the list for the following week’s meal pickup.

Pickups will be Wednesdays at the Wayland High School Fine Arts Center (FAC) main entrance from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Distribution of meals will occur once per week and will include the entire week’s worth of meals. Virtual Meals are freeto all children 18 years and younger.
