The torrential rainstorm that was welcomed Friday afternoon in Wayland and environs also caused the second of the four-part series of Friday night concerts in the City Park to be moved to the Wayland High School Fine Arts Center. The rain had stopped, but city and school officials didn’t want to take any chances of causing patrons to get wet. The Williams Family, perennial performers for the series, played to a dry and appreciative crowd. The storm was interesting in that it caused tornado sirens to wail at about 2:30 p.m. There was no touchdown here, but more than 650 residents in Allegan were without power because of the strong winds, thunder and lightning.
