Charles David Owens, age 82, of Shelbyville died Sunday, May 11.
Chuck retired from Steelcase after 40 years of service. He enjoyed his summers at Little White Fish Lake, and his winters in Florida. He was a dedicated and respected family man and will be deeply missed by all.
Chuck will be lovingly remembered by the light of his life for the past year, Josephine “Jo” McKay; his children, Lisa (Todd) Holst, Amy (Jeff) Schmidt; grandchildren, Jake, Corey, Weston, Kendra, Amy; great grandchildren, Evan, Liam, Genevieve, Ella; sister, Carrie (Don) Moore, several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann, and seven siblings.
The family will greet visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral will begin at 11 am. Rev. Dr. Martin D. Phillips will officiate.
Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
