Mr. Modreske was a fine businessman and always had the customer’s best interests whether selling or servicing vehicles. I never bought a vehicle from him, but knew him and the business well. Many of his employees are Wayland people and he provided many jobs, advertised locally, and supported many school activities. Gene was a good citizen, proud father and grandfather, and will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to the family and friends.
The Modreske and Morgenstern families were country neighbors. I remember driving the tractor with Gene on wagon stacking while baling hay.
I got my first PT Cruiser through his dealership.
Gene was a great guy.
My deepest sympathy to his family.
