Dorothy Tolan, age 95, died Sunday, Sept. 5.
Dorothy worked at Lear Siegler, Smith Industries for 46 years. She also volunteered for 20 years at Metropolitan Hospital. Dorothy also enjoyed many years of golfing.
She is survived by her children Richard (Sharon) Tolan, Larry (Carrie) Tolan, Patricia Carpenter; grandchildren Evan (Brittany Gengle) Tolan; great-grandson, Porter Jack Tolan; step-grandchildren Kim (Tom), Kelli, Benjamin, Callie; step-great-grandchildren Taylor, Christian, Jackson, Chase; sister, Frances Mlynarchek; sister-in-law, Shirley Tolan; special friend, Stella Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Tolan; parents Andrew and Anna Mlynarchek; brothers Andrew Mlynarchek Jr., Joseph Mlynarchek, Frank Mlynarchek, Charles Mlynarchek, Edward Mlynarchek; sisters Annie Hastidt, Mary Cigler, Sister Diana Mlynarchek, Agnes Hawthorne, Helen Napper, Cecila Cisler; and grandsons William and Patrick.
A funeral mass will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church – 159 131st Ave., Wayland, with visitation one hour prior.
In memory of Dorothy and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Michigan Humane Society or West Michigan Meals on Wheels.
A wife and mother I admired for years. A determined, hardworking person who raised 3 children without help from a disabled mate. My sincere condolences to the family.
