Daniel John Burchardt, age 52, died Saturday, Dec 7
Born Dec. 23, 1971, in Grand Rapids, to Paul and Susan Burchardt, he was one of four children. He later graduated from Hopkins Public Schools, where he played football since the seventh grade.
He went on to work in farming and excavating, most recently for Cripps Fontaine Excavating, for many years. Dan was well known for his work ethic and strong sense of humor. He had a “small mouth, but a loud voice.” He always spoke his mind.
Dan is survived by his children Seth, Colton (Emily), Alyssa; mother, Susan Burchardt; brothers Paul (Joan) Burchardt, Derek Burchardt; sister, Carrie Burchardt; good friend, Kim Burchardt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec 15, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., with prayers of the Rosary beginning at 4 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2024 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1871 136th Ave., Dorr Dan will be laid to rest at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
In memory of Dan and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dan’s children to assist with final expenses.
