Funeral Oct. 2 for Moline native Grace Harper

Grace Harper (Boersma) died September 16, 2024, in Grand Rapids. She was 93.

Born Aug. 28, 1931, in Moline, Grace lived her life joyfully, loving and accepting family and people as they were, following the example of Jesus.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Jan) Harper, Carol Rausch, Nancy Wanroy (Tom Vogel), and Patricia Harper, sisters Bertha Steensma and Anne (Ron) Ezinga, brother Ben (Cleo) Boersma, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Westenbrook.Her nine grandchildren are David (Arika Streyle) Harper, Thomas Harper, Ashley (Zach Ulickas) Harper, Benjamin (Cori Anderson) Rausch, Sarah (Dylan) Lallemand, Katherine (Mike) Mazurkiewitcz, Joseph (Bethany) Wanroy, Mitchell (Jen) Zevalking, Ryan (Christina) Zevalking, and she has eight great-grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Harper, her son, Daniel and her grandchildren Sara and Graham, She also was preceded in death by six brothers, one sister, and two brothers-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, Grace chose WorldRenew or the Marcus and Martina Scholarship Fund at Kuyper College for those who wish to make a donation.

The memorial service will be on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 514 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. and the service will begin at 2. There will be pie for all in the fellowship room after the service. Private burial has taken place.
