Funeral Saturday for Terry “Sarge) George

Terry Edward (Sarge) George died Monday, March 3.

He was a loving husband and an amazing father. Terry was passionate about his hobbies. He was a talented woodworker – whether he was building bookshelves and toy boxes for his grandkids, or using his scroll saw to create custom designs. One of his happy places was his woodshop.

He had a great love for the outdoors, and was an avid hunter of deer, coyote, fox, boar, and turkey to name a few. He loved having a fishing pole in his hand, either on land or water. He was a master angler – with the patches to prove it, as he liked to say.

Terry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, ranked as a sergeant, with 10 years of service in before he was honorably discharged for health reasons. Terry also loved his Harley. He and Tina rode every chance they got back in the day. Terry was also a dedicated employee to Country Fresh for almost 36 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Tina (Long), his “pretty pretty girls” (as he always called them) Tosha (Chris) Jordan, Trista (Joe) Borgic, and Taylor (Dorian Palmer) George. He also had six grandkids Dominic, Aria, and Bodhi Jordan, along with Hoyt, Jolyn, and McKenna Borgic. He is also survived by his honorary son, Bud (Kaye) Fisher, and his favorIte three-legged grandbunny, Darcy Marie, as well as all of his other furry grandbabies that he was allergic to, not to mention his many friends, coworkers, and other loved ones.

Terry was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Lee George, aka his “Little Man of Steel”… and both of his in-laws Clyde and Irene Long – who always thought of Terry as a son.

His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Wayland Chapel), 312 N. Main St., Wayland, with visitation beginning at noon. Sarge will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland
