Babriano Jimenez of Orangeville, a 1966 graduate of Martin High School, died Monday, June 6, at the age of 76.
He was born in Orangeville on January 15, 1946, the son of Baleriano and Rosaria (Frausto) Jimenez. After graduation, he served his country by joining the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, until he was honorably discharged in 1970. While at home on leave he met his wife, Evangelina Puente, and following his discharge the two were united in holy matrimony on May 1, 1971. Together they welcomed two children: Demetrio and Cristal.
Babriano worked for the State of Michigan: Michigan Career and Technical Institute for 27 years and retired at the age of 51. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling in his motor home with family, going to sporting events for family members, and going for long drives with his wife.
He will be fondly remembered for his outgoing personality, his kindness and generosity, and his ability to easily make friends wherever he went.
He is preceded in his passing by his wife of 46 years: Evangelina; his parents; and siblings: Julian, Roberto, Luis, Petra and Julia.
Surviving are his children: Demetrio (Sandra) Jimenez and Cristal (Richard) Doll; grandchildren: Cesar, Emilio, Landen, and Evangelina; siblings: Joe and Delores; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials made in Babriano’s memory may be directed to The Fountain of Truth Apostolic Tabernacle, 6116 Marsh Road, Shelbyville.
In accordance with Babriano’s wishes public services will be held at The Fountain of Truth Apostolic Tabernacle, at noon Friday, June 10. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Oak Hill Cemetery of Orangeville.
