Funeral will be Friday in Caledonia for David Corson, 59

David Allan Corson, age 59, died Tuesday, May 21, after a seven-year battle with melanoma.

David had many passions, he was often described as a “jack of all trades, and master of each of them.” He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time with his family. He worked at Steelcase as a press operator for 36 years.

One of his most prevalent passions were his classic cars, specifically his 1970 Chevelle and 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.

He will be deeply missed by the love of his life of 22 years, Toni Wilbur; his children Holly (Jason) Parks, Philip David (Jenna) Corson, Drew (Dana) Corson, Klay Corson, Chas Wilbur, Theresa Wilbur; grandchildren Ashlynn, Jordan, Ashton, Eva, Jillian, Rhys; parents Walter and Carolyn Corson; siblings Ed (Marilyn) Corson, Roger (Julie) Corson, Nancy (Curt) Bonzheim, Jerry (Melanie) Corson, Kari (Andy) Westlake; special friends Jim Rogers and Ray Wiersma and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and friends.

He was preceded in death by his niece, Betsy Corson.

Guests are invited to a visitation from 1 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Caledonia Christian Reformed Church, 9957 Cherry Valley Ave. SE, Caledonia, with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

In memory of David and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice – Trillium Woods.
