Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Woodward Baptist Church, 2160 76th St. SW, Byron Center for soccer coach Csaba Barabas, who died of cancer earlier this month at age 46.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St., and an hour before the service Monday.
Csaba and his wife, Rebecca, have two students at the high school. They are also the founders of the Wayland Rovers Soccer Club. Csaba coached many of the boys currently on the Wayland junior varsity and varsity.
Barabas also was father of Wayland High School’s top cross-country runner this fall, Olivia Barabas.
He underwent treatment in July and even sought advice from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Sources indicate Csaba started to tremble uncontrollably on the left side of his body June 9 while climbing down a ladder at work. He was rushed to the hospital and after a series of scans and tests it was determined he has a large mass in his lung and four to six tumors in his brain and lymph nodes.
