Bernie Vander Veen, age 90, died Friday, Oct. 25.
He is survived by loving wife of 69 years, Jean Vander Veen; children Nick (Diane) Vander Veen, Linda (Al) Miedema, Laura (Harry) Koster, Marilyn (Bob) Becksvoort, Eric (Jen) Vander Veen; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings Ken (Marge) Vander Veen and Marian Kraima; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Connie Bronkhorst, Florence Koster, Tressa Rynsberger, Ed Vander Veen, Harriet Heyes, Ryven Vander Veen and Dorothy Vander Veen.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland, The funeral will be held at at noon Saturday, Nov. 2, at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, 303 E. Elm Wayland, with visitation from 11 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Pastor Jerry Zandstra will be officiating. Interment to follow at Hooker Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Bernie, contributions may be made to World Bible League or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
