Funeral will be Saturday for James ‘Boonie’ Hilaski of Dorr

4298160_300x300James “Boonie” Hilaski, age 72 of Dorr, died April 19, while home with family.

James worked for Bay Valley Foods for more than 47 years. He enjoyed going to the Hopkins High School football games. He looked forward to morel mushrooms and enjoyed nature-walking in the woods, country drives, working in the yard. James’ greatest joy was his grandchildren.

He was born to the late Walter and Florence Hilaski in 1943.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda (Swainston) Hilaski; his son Brian Hilaski; his daughters Catherine Hilaski and Shelley (Mark) Funk; granddaughter Alicia (Cesar) Juarez; and four great-grandchildren: Ariana, Elias, Isaac, and Charlotte; and mother-in-law Marion Swainston.

Friends may visit with James’ family from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 4330 18th St., Dorr. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
