Funeral will be Tuesday for Melody Lodenstein, 67

Melody L. Lodenstein, 67, of Wayland, died Thursday, April 13, at her home.

She was born on May 27, 1949, to Gilbert and Lorraine (Kinert) Merchant in Petoskey. She married Leon Lodenstein March 14, 1970. She was a a 1967 graduate of Wayland High School.

Melody was a member of various church ministries and quilting club. She loved gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her loving spouse of 47 years Leon, two daughters, Kristie (Chad) LeValley of Wayland and Joann (Kevin)Worden of Horton; grandchildren Jesse and Morgan LeValley; Brother, Craig Merchant of Onaway, and an abundance of close family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Her mother was a physical education teacher at Wayland High School.

Family will receive friends and family from 10 am until time the Celebration of Life begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Corinth Reformed Church, Byron Center. According to her wishes cremation has taken place.
