‘Garage sale for moms’ for Saturday, April 18, in Hopkins

A Mom 2 Mom sa11148612_480711842080042_6313380728338014213_nle at will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Hopkins Elementary to help moms buy and sell gently used clothing and toys for kids, a sort of “garage sale for moms.”

Hopkins teacher Jason Babiak, whose son, Dawson is battling leukemia, said, “In addition to helping moms I thought that we could also help a local cause. So, I decided that the monetary cost of the rental space to sell at the sale would be then given to a local program that provides coats, boots, and shoes for children in need. It just makes sense.

“As a parent of two I understand that these basic necessities are costly and some parents need a little help… We need moms, or dads, to sell at the event. Set-up is on Friday. We also need a few parent volunteers to be an extra set of helping hands.

“The National Honor Society students at Hopkins High School have graciously accepted the challenge to help too. If you are interested in selling or just helping please e-mail me at jasobabi@hpsvikings.org
