The owners of Giuseppe’s Pizza restaurant have established a “Gofundme” page in an effort to help reboot their business.
Giuseppe’s Thursday morning was the scene of a fire that caused heavy damage.
“This came at a time when we unfortunately did not have insurance,” owners said on Facebook. “We are asking for help to reopen the doors again. We love our customers and we are trying to cope with the devastation this has brought us.”
Firefighters from Wayland, and Hopkins and Leighton townships were summoned to the scene near the downtown four corners at about 6:30 a.m. after a local police officer called it in from his cruiser passing by. It apparently had started in the back of the building.
The three departments worked together to put the fire out quickly and were able to contain the serious damage to one building.
Without added financial help, Giuseppe’s Pizza probably will not be able to reopen, according to sources close to the situation, because the owner was renting the building for the business.
The fire also damaged the neighboring tax accounting business and Reno Insurance, but it is expected both of them will be back in business Monday.
“It’s not the end, just a new beginning,” the owners posted on Facebook. “We are really sad and we are trying to pick up the pieces right now.”

Not sure why anyone would like to help. There have been many customers complaining about being over charged, not get proper orders, and just plainly getting food that is incomplete or improperly made without any regards to the customer. Sorry just my opinion but I won’t support a business that treats it customers like that weather or not they are a fixture in the community or not. I say good riddens. Go get a job with another place and hope they treat you like you did your employees by under paying them or cheating them out of hours they worked for you. Guess you get what you deserve.
