A Go Fund Me page has been established for Csaba Barabas, who faces health and financial challenges with a recent cancer diagnosis.
His wife, Rebecca (Karsies) is a 1996 graduate of Wayland High School, and her children attend Wayland High School. Daughter Olivia is the No. 1 runner on the Wildcat cross-country team.
Csaba Barabas coaches soccer in Wayland.
Sources indicate Csaba started to tremble uncontrollably on the left side of his body June 9 while climbing down a ladder at work. He was rushed to the hospital and after a series of scans and tests it was determined he has a large mass in his lung and four to six tumors in his brain and lymph nodes.
He was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma. Brain radiation was started July 5 with the cyber knife and he has undergone five rounds to date. The family had a chance to get a second opinion from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. On Monday (July 18,
doctors/oncologist advised him to stick with the plan in Grand Rapids with Ammuno recommended.
There is no cure for this horrible diagnosis, but the family members and health care professionals are going to fight with everything they have. This means lots of doctors visits, treatments, missed work, and days and nights of fatigue and not feeling well at all.
They also are considering alternatives for a treatment in Texas.
“Csaba,” the GoFundMe sponsor said, “is a strong healthy young dad who plays and coaches soccer, golfs, and is a hard working great family man.”
