GoFundMe established for area teen killed in crash

The teen-ager who was killed last Thursday in a Barry County traffic crash was the brother of a Hopkins woman and a GoFundMe page has been established for his family.

Zacharee C. Mason, 17, of Hastings, was killed in the incident. He was out with friends and a deer jumped out in front of their car on a rural dirt road. When the driver of the car swerved to miss hitting the deer, he lost control of the car. The car rolled multiple times and Zacharee was thrown from the car.

He is survived by mother Malinda, father Jeremy, stepfather Robert, sister Jasmine (Zach), brothers Michael and Joey, girlfriend Abbie, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews and friends.

There will be a celebration of life service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. at Girrbach Funeral Home 328 S. Broadway St. Hastings.

Donations may made to the GoFundMe to help with expenses.
