Graveside service planned Thursday for Paul Sprague

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery in Wayland for Paul Peter Sprague Jr., age 68, who died Wednesday, May 27.

A resident of Hardee County for 50 years coming from Michigan, he was born Aug. 28, 1951, in Grand Rapids. He was a proud member of the Huron Potawatomi Native American tribe in Michigan. Paul retired from Johns on Wheels, where he was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul P. Sprague Sr. and Pauline Medawis Sprague; grandmother, Elizabeth Sprague, who raised Paul and his siblings; and brother, Ronald Dean Sprague.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Sprague Townsend; half-sisters Ronda Hansen Wesaw, Julia Stanhiser, and Loretta Wesaw; special cousins Rachel Mackety and Seth Kequom; as well as many cousins, extended family, and friends in Michigan and Florida.

In memory of Paul and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
