A Greater Hopkins Area Chamber of Commerce may be in the works.
Barb Bennett, a committee member and one of the principal organizers, said she will present an outline of plans to the Hopkins Township Board Monday evening, March 9. She made a similar presentation last month to the Hopkins Village Council.
“Our Hopkins DDA (Downtown Development Authority) is a strong supporter of this and I will be getting the other boards, organizations and businesses involved,” Bennett said. “I believe it’s a win-win for all of our community.”
The core committee will send out post cards, inviting local residents to a “meet and greet” in May with more details of how businesses, organizations, schools, etc., and can join and take advantage of the benefits of being a chamber member.
“We are very excited at the possibilities that await our community with the Greater Hopkins Area Chamber of Commerce.”
