Guest column: I really do miss real news in newspapers

by David Britten

Sometimes I’ll buy a newspaper at the store, but I don’t spend much time reading it since it’s “old news.” I just like to relive the days when a daily paper in your hands was an awesome feeling.

That and the national news limited to a half hour at 6 and 11 p.m., with real, respected anchors, not the circus clown entertainers we see on much of the so-called news shows, today. And maybe a weekly or monthly magazine of your choice for a little in-depth analysis and cultural news.

The good old days were certainly not always good, but I think our method of digesting the news was far better than today.

Off my soapbox.
