The Gun Lake Casino has announced a minimum wage increase to $14 an hour in an effort to hire more than 200 people.
The boost for new starting wages for all non-tip positions will be more than 30%. The starting wage of all tip positions will be $7.50 per hour. The wage increases will go into effect June 1.
Gun Lake Casino also provides a benefits package that includes three weeks of paid vacation, quarterly discretionary bonus incentives, free health care and a 401(k) program.
Meanwhile, work crews are adding 72,000 square feet to the southern portion of the casino’s property on 129th Avenue at the Bradley U.S.-131 expressway exit. The $100 million expansion project also will provide space for 450 more slot machines, an electronic table games area and an expanded non-smoking area.
The renovated casino operation is scheduled to open near the end of the summer.
