Wayland’s boys’ varsity track team lost an O-K Gold Conference dual meet, 90-47, Tuesday to Hastings.

“The Wildcats were defeated by conference front runner Hastings tonight,” said coach Marty Howard. They performed very well but the depth of Hastings got the best of the Wildcats.”

Wayland’s winners in the competition were:

• Macarty Carpenter, shot put, 43’5.5″
• Perry Carter, Owen Glass, Jeremy Pletcher and Justin Fleser in the 3200 relay, 8:32.25.
• Justin Fleser, 100-meter dash, 11.76 seconds.
• Carson Nieuwenhuis, 400-meter, 52.89

The Wildcats are back in action Wednesday at Grand Rapids Catholic Catholic Central in another league dual meet.
