The Hopkins High School girls’ varsity basketball team dropped its season opener 71-59 Tuesday, Dec. 4, to Tri-County

Senior point guard Kennedy Helderop pumped in a career-high 35 points, including six three-point field goals and five free throws in six attempts at the free throw line.

The Lady Vikings have a brutal schedule in their three games, all on the road. They’ll play at Comstock Park at 7 p.m. today and then travel to Allendale Friday evening.
