Elysha Cloyd has resigned as director of the Henika District Library.
Cloyd, who came on board last September succeeding the resigned Lynn Mandaville, left May 21 because her boyfriend has taken a full-time job in Kansas.
This means Ms. Cloyd’s tenure will be by far the shortest in Henika Library history. Mandaville, who stepped down in July 2014, was only the fourth library director in the historic agency’s last 98 years. The other three were Fannie Hoyt, the first, who started in 1916, followed by Dorothy Peterson, Barbara Crofoot-Keeney. Mandaville had resigned after serving for 29 years.
The acting director once again in the interim will be Carol DeBoer. The search for a new director already has begun.
