A pretty “snappy” green bean side dish recipe. “Snap” beans, green beans or string beans — no matter which name you prefer, they are one and the same.
Clean and snap ends off of one pound of fresh green beans, set aside to drain.
Fry up seven slices of bacon (that’s what fit into my pan) and set aside on paper towel to drain. Break into pieces when cooled.
Drain all but a tablespoon of bacon grease out of pan leaving any crispy tidbits behind for that extra flavor. Place green beans in the same pan and cover. Cook on medium high heat, stirring every couple of minutes to incorporate the bacon flavor throughout the beans.
It does take around 30 minutes to cook, so while you’re stirring the beans, check for the tenderness that your family desires.
Add the bacon bits and enjoy!
