Wayland Middle School eighth-grade girls’ basketball coach Don Hermenitt recently was honored for coaching the sport for 40 years. Hermenitt began his career guiding girls on the court in 1976 as assistant to legendary varsity coach Zack Moushegian. In later years he chose to take younger players. He is shown here with Middle School Athletic Director/Assistant Principal Robyn Robinson, who was one of his junior varsity players about 25 years ago. (Photo courtesy of Laurie Zywiczynski)
