Hopkins High School graduate Colin Weber came to Bloomington, Ind., with the University of North Carolina Charlotte football team Saturday to take on the undefeated Hooisers.

Indiana, widely regarded as a serious contender for a league title and bowl game, scored its fourth straight victory by defeating the 49ers, 52-14. UNC Charlotte scored two touchdowns in the second quarter to pull within three points, 17-14, but Indiana then scored the next 35 points to register a rout.

Weber, a senior tight end, did not make any catches in the contest, but he’s had 14 for 143 yards this season.

Weber, who starred in football and basketball during his prep career for the Vikings, last December was named to the all-star team first unit at tight end for the American Athletic Conference football team. He led the team in receptions and yardage for the season.

The game was televised on the BIG network.
