High school biology students help 3rd-graders dissect cow’s eye

Third-graders from Dorr ElemCow Eye Dissection 3rd gdentary were given a hands-on lesson on the anatomy of the eye last week. High school students from Lynn Gosson’s AP Biology class worked with the younger students in small groups to dissect a cow’s eye, which most closely resembles a human eye. They were able to identify the various parts of the eye and discuss their functions. Shown here, AP Biology student Rebecca Barnhard (second from left) finds the different parts of the eye and talks about their functions to third-graders (from left) Olivia Lawrence, Xander Brown and Carson Hatkowski in Alesia Licari’s classroom.
