The Hopkins boys basketball team suffered its sixth consecutive loss Friday night, this time to a surprising O-K Silver Conference leading Belding.

The Lady Vikings had a tough evening as well, absorbing their first loss in the Silver, 52-33.

The Black Nights recorded a 66-57 victory over Hopkins boys to lift their overall season record to 9-2, a spotless 5-0 in league play. The Vikings, meanwhile, dropped to 4-8 overall and 0-5 in the Silver.

Hopkins won four of its first five contests this season before hitting a bad patch starting with league action, with two of its losses by just one point and another in overtime.

The Lady Vikings has had almost the opposite results to the guys, losing their first five win a row before launching their win streak when Silver play began. They are now 4-1 in the league and 4-6 overall.

Both Hopkins teams will get stern tests Tuesday against NorthPointe Christian. The Lady Mustangs just took over first place in the Silver standings.
