Hopkins boys capture 5th straight victory of season

The Hopkins boys’ varsity basketball team roared to its fifth consecutive victory this season Tuesday night with a convincing 52-26 victory at Muskegon Catholic Central.

The girls, however, suffered a 64-33 defeat at the hands of Holland West Ottawa and saw their overall season record slip to 4-3.

The guys played quality defense all night in Muskegon, improving their overall season record to 5-1.

Coach Jake Jewett said four players of his scored in double figures. Tristen Perry led with 12 points, Noah Corneille had 11, and Jayden Prather and Micah Estelle finished with 10 apiece.

“Both JV and varsity came out on top to improve our overall program record to 13-2 heading into conference play.  All three levels are home this coming Thursday/Friday vs. Sparta.”
