Hopkins has decided to do what Martin earlier announced about upcoming basketball games — move them to Thursday in anticipation of a major snow storm Friday and Saturday.

The Vikings boys’ and girls’ squads will take on Kelloggsville at 5:45 and 7:15 p.m. Thursday, a full 24 hours ahead of what was scheduled originally.

The Lady Vikings will be shooting for their third straight win in the O-K Silver Conference and the boys will try to put the brakes on a four-game skid.

Meanwhile, Wayland schools has announced the Wildcat boys will have their Friday game against Forest Hills Eastern moved to Thursday as well. The Wildcats will move the special “Coaches vs. Cancer” contest from Friday, Jan. 13, to Friday, Feb. 16, also in anticipation of inclement weather.

Martin earlier announced it was moving its games against Galesburg-Augusta to Thursday, in an attempt to avoid fallout from the expectation of travel problems from an approaching storm.
