The Hopkins High School Chamber Choir received a high enough score to qualify for State Solo & Ensemble Festival in March this year.

The Chamber Choir students traveled to East Kentwood High School Feb. 4 to take part in the District Solo & Ensemble Festival. They performed two choral pieces in front of an adjudicator/judge. The Chamber Choir received a variety of comments,, which highlighted both areas of needed improvement, as well as their strengths within the two pieces.

The Hopkins Chamber Choir has consistently received an “Excellent” rating at the district festival level for almost a decade.

Choral educator Jacob Oaster said, “This, in large, is due to the high level of dedication, commitment, and overwhelming perseverance of the students and families within the Vocal Music Department.”
