The Dorr Township and Hopkins District libraries serve a population of about 12,000 patrons in a rural to semi-urban area in northeastern Allegan County. The libraries have nine part- and full-time employees besides the director
Bazan had served at Hopkins for five and a half years and at Dorr for a little more than three years. She spent 25 hours per week at each library.
Programs have ranged from reading clubs combined with a craft to welding in the parking lot and patrons are offered loanable Makerspace kits, binge boxes and more on a combined budget of about $250,000.
Both libraries are also actively working on community projects.
A master’s degree in library science and some experience is preferred, as well as with familiarity with fund-raising.
