The Hopkins boys’ varsity basketball team defeated Grand River Prep 65-52 in an unusual Friday night non-league contest in between Christmas and New Year’s.
The victory lifted the Vikings’ overall record to 2-6. They will begin O-K Silver Conference action next Friday, Jan. 3, with a game against Wyoming Godwin Heights.
Hopkins halted a six-game losing streak that began with the second game of the season.
Grand River Prep, with the loss, fell to 1-7 on the season.
