The Hopkins boys’ basketball team ended its regular season on a high note Tuesday with an impressive 51-34 victory over Kent City.
The visiting Eagles, who in years gone by were members of the O-K Silver Conference, brought a lofty 14-4 overall record into the contest and were leading their league.
The Vikings, with the win, improved their season record overall to 6-12.
Hopkins next will play Monday evening at Wayland in the opening round of the Division 2 district tournament.
The Wayland boys’ varsity squad ended its regular season Tuesday night with a 73-59 victory over Allendale in a non-conference contest. The Wildcats, who start the districts at home next week against Hopkins, concluded with a 5-15 overall record.
Martin boys, however, dropped a 57-50 verdict against West Michigan Aviation Academy and saw its overall record slip to 5-13.
