Hopkins FFA alum is ag teaching award nominee

Samantha Ludlam

Hopkins High School graduate Samantha Ludlam has been nominated for the National Association of Agricultural Educators for outstanding teacher. Ludlam, who also holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, teaches agriculture at Coopersville High School and was tutored heavily by Hopkins FFA Advisor Jessica Couch.

Ludlam’s colleague who nomiated her said, “I’m proud to nominate Samantha Ludlam for this recognition because of her steadfast commitment to her students. I have known Samantha for many years and she truly sets an example for all teachers to follow. Samantha is kind, well-organized, creative and caring. She pushes her students to think outside of the box and explore new techniques and ideas along the way.

“Her passion for agriculture is contagious. She has a unique way of lifting up and supporting those around her, even when not intentional. I am so proud to have Samantha as a colleague, but more importantly, a true friend.”
