The Hopkins FFA chapter this summer planted a new school garden next to the animal barn behind the high school. Valerie Nagengast, Haylie Kiraly, MaKenna Davies, Lexie Wilson and Ethan Gilder formed a committee to oversee the garden and created lesson plans to teach younger students about how food is grown. They built four 4 ft x 8 ft raised beds and landscaped the area with donated fencing, rocks and plants. Many grants helped make this project possible. The committee members encourage anyone who is interested to take a peek at the garden behind the high school. (Photo supplied)
