Hopkins Fire Dept. warns grass fire season looms

The Hopkins Area Faire Department reminds area residents that as the land dries out in the next several weeks, the prospects of grass fires increase. “Please be mindful of burning,” a spokesman said. “If you’re putting on a controlled burn, we ask you remain on the scene and only leave once everything has been extinguished. Don’t hesitate to call as fires can quickly get out of control which then makes more challenging for departments.”
