The Hopkins High School girls’ basketball team ended a five-game losing streak Thursday night with a 42-20 victory over O-K Silver rival Wyoming Godwin Heights at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
However, the Viking boys’ squad lost later in the evening to the Wolverines, 73-52.
The Lady Vikings opened the season in November with a win over Three Rivers, but then dropped the next five contests. They are now 2-5 overall.
Hopkins boys have had a similar season, winning the opener, but then absorbing six losses in a row. They now sport an overall record of 2-7.
