Hopkins High School alum Madison Wyngarden is being welcomed as new junior varsity softball coach at her alma mater.

“She’s one of my alumni players and now we are fortunate  to have her on our coaching staff,” said head Viking softball coach Amy Funk.

Wyngarden said, “My softball career started in Dorr/Hopkins rec and I was a part of the program until I graduated in 2019. I also played three years of travel ball for Venom. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be involved with the program once again as a coach!”

Wyngarden played shortstop and third base in her prep career at Hopkins.

She has a daughter, Luna Leigh, who will be a year old in January.
