Lori Castello at Hopkins home recovering from heart attack

Lori Castello in a familiar pose, explaining something to a planning commission meeting.

Lori Castello had a heart attack Monday evening, Nov. 4, and underwent double bypass surgery.

She will have a lengthy recovery period. A Meal Train campaign (somewhat like a Go Fund Me page) is being organized by local people to help provide meals to the family while she convalesces. A Meal Train post said, “Lots of people have offered to make meals for their family. This is a way for us all to stay organized to make sure they don’t get everything all at one time!”

Castello and her husband have three children, all Hopkins High School graduates.

She is perhaps best known as a zoning enforcement administrator for Professional Code Inspections, serving the City of Wayland and a large number of area townships. She previously was a secretary at Hopkins High School and was chairwoman of the Hopkins Township Planning Commission.
