A large number of Hopkins FFA Middle School students placed first or second at the district leadership contests Friday and have earned the right to move on to the regional level.
The district competitors were:
- Creed Speaking: Mariah Marvin, first place; Maddie Bockheim, second place.
- Junior High Speaking: Bailey Couch, first place; Vanessa Veld, second place, Nicole Pitsch, third Place.
- JH Conduct of Meetings (Blue Team): third place team with Ethan Gilder, Trey Teunissen Nolan Schricker, Jaxon Ward, Katrina Tucker and Anna Washburn.
- JH Conduct of Meetings (Gold Team): second place team with Maddie Douglas, Olivia Coffey, Olivia Hightower, Peyton Kukor, Haylie Kiraly, Lindsey Taylor, Lane Moored and Valerie Nagengast.
“I couldn’t be more proud of all of my FFA kids who competed in district leadership contests tonight!” said FFA advisor Jessica Couch.”Seeing how much these kids have grown in such a short amount of time is amazing! A huge thank you to all of my coaches… I couldn’t do this without you!”
